Lead Professional Review
<p>since forming in 1999, the Healthy Homes Section (HHS) has offered the regulated community a no-cost, on-site or record review consultation service to assist professionals in staying compliant with the requirements of their lead certifications. Called a “Lead Professional Review”, this service allows you to ask questions and have your reports or worksite reviewed to ensure your work complies with the Michigan Lead Abatement Act and rules.</p>

<p>A certified supervisor or project designer shall prepare an abatement report at the completion of each abatement activity in accordance with Michigan rule R325.99406(12). The report shall be provided to the building owner in accordance with R 325.99103(2). and maintained for not less than 3 years.</p>
Lead Professional Certification -Renewal Application-
<p>The Michigan Lead Abatement Act of 1998 requires certification of individuals engaged in lead-based paint activities in the state of Michigan. Certification is valid for three years, with an annual maintenance fee. Prior to the end of each three year period, a certification in good standing may be renewed by successful completion of an appropriate refresher course and third party exam. Upon successful completion of the exam, a State of Michigan lead certification card will be issued to you. An individual is eligible to take the certification exam no more than three times within six months after receiving a course completion certificate.</p>
Lead Professional Certification -Initial Application
<p>The Michigan Lead Abatement Act of 1998 requires certification of individuals engaged in lead-based paint activities in the state by the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS). Certification requires the individual to meet minimum education and/or experience qualifications, successfully complete an accredited training course, and pass a third-party certification examination. Upon successful completion of the exam, a MDHHS lead certification card will be issued to you. An individual is eligible to take the certification exam no more than three times within six months after receiving a course completion certificate. Certification is valid for three years, with an annual maintenance fee. Prior to the end of each three year period, a certification in good standing may be renewed by successful completion of an appropriate refresher course and successful completion of a third party exam.</p>
Lead Abatement Contractor Renewal Application
<p>The Michigan Lead Abatement Act of 1998 requires that persons (firms) conducting lead-based paint (LBP) activities in the State of Michigan must first obtain certification from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), Healthy Homes Section (HHS). Certification requires employment of Michigan certified lead professionals for all lead-based paint activities, and that all LBP activities shall be conducted in accordance with work practice standards established by the department. Certification must be renewed annually, and the corresponding fee paid.</p>
